Filipino American Student Association
Unity of the mind of the heart. The Filipino American Student Association thrives on Filipino culture as the driving force behind its continuing efforts to educate others about the Filipino heritage. We are American, having grown up in the United States and associated ourselves with the American culture. We are Asian, one of the largest group of Asian Americans in this country, and we are sensitive and familiar with the numerous issues concerning the larger Asian community. We are Filipino, and it is important for us to identify with our Filipino legacy and show others the beauty of Philippine traditions. Our American, Asian, and Filipino identities allow us to see the world from a very unique perspective that will serve as a guideline into the future. We hope to enlighten the minds of those unfamiliar with our culture and make them realize it is important and crucial to the success of the increasing diversity in America. We hope to fill the hearts of all Filipino Americans with their Filipino heritage. The ultimate dream is to make all individuals aware of the Filipino ways and make them realize the importance and splendor of all cultures in the world.
