Philippine American Bar Association
In 1977, the founding fathers of the Association, all lawyers from the Philippines, formed what was then, the Philippine Lawyers Association in Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Some of the founding members are: Julio Macaranas, Jr., founding President, Anthony Azores, founding Chairman of the Board, David Valderrama, Jose A. Naldo, Domingo Ordoveza, Norman Balagtas, Avelino Halagao, Inocentes Tecala, Oscar Noblejas, Roberto Suguitan, Pete Recinto and others.
Through the years, new leaders emerged, breaking ground for the association. Through their collective efforts and with the guidance of some of their predecessors, they created an impetus for the Philippine Lawyers Association to formally evolve into the Philippine Amercian Bar Association (PABA) in 1955. PABA is very active in professional, political, cultural and social enrichment not only for Filipinos residing in the United States but also those at home as well as for American comrades.
