invAsian
invAsian is a free, e 'zine founded in the summer of 2001 by Izumi Tezuka and Edward Crutcher. Although we made our debut as a black and white glossy magazine and our first 3 issues had print runs of 3000 each, we ultimately decided to convert to an electronic publication. The concept for invAsian was conceived through our travels and life experiences as we realized that there are a growing number of people who have shared in the challenges that we have faced as mixed race, multi-ethnic members of both Asian and non-Asian communities. Based in New York City, we are specifically created for the Asian Pacific American population in the United States. However, with the on-going diaspora of Asians throughout the world, the US may serve as the microcosm but Asian issues are of international relevance. We hope that this journal will serve as a venue and a resource for Asian diasporic communities worldwide. Izumi Tezuka Edward Crutcher < back to listings |
